Well, your link is dead, and that's one thing, but the video is still there to be found on youtube. I watched it, wasn't impressed. First of all, that whole impact music sound track just annoys me because I saw Requiem for a Dream, and that pretty much numbs you to soundtrack effects forever because theirs was so good.

Anyway, I'm not going to jump out of my seat and scream "YOU BASTARDS!!" because they all suck. Obama, Bush, McCain, Mayor McCheese, the gals on the View...they all suck. No doubt everyone has a part in this, but making a video full of highlighted shock points followed by jump cuts and bullet points is just production. The attribution of rising gas prices to the housing market was nice touch, though.

Carter enacted this bill, and it worked, particularly during a time of great financial growth due to the reduced capital gains tax under Reagan. Then they expanded it and it didn't work. Not only was there not enough financial growth in the US to support it (at those rates, there really couldn't be), but work was disappearing (not taken by illegal immigrants, just taken by citizens...of the countries it was moved to) and even people that were once viable mortgage holders were suddenly left hanging. But that's not all of it, that's just some of it, and there's plenty more, but to cover the whole thing would not be possible with what I know, which ain't much. However, I tend to take an even approach to things and say they are all freaking complicit in the whole mess and laying blame is like looking at a Rube Goldberg machine in the dark and trying to figure out what turned the toaster on. This is a mess that everyone took turns getting rich off of, and then spent as much effort in misdirection and accusation of wrongdoing as they did getting the money.

It's a beautiful system.

You know what's to blame? iPods. iPods and Cell phones and GPS trackers and cable freaking TV and Starbucks and computers and everything else we use in this consumptive society. I am dead serious, we have invented another 20% burden on our finances that didn't exist 20 years ago. We just freaking invented it. TV used to be free. The telephone used to be attached to the wall, and that was good enough. Coffee was 50 cents and a latte was...what's a latte? We invented our own debt, and then we didn't make enough much to cover it. And my favorite part is that greed led us to it, and greed made it worse. Trying to blame one group, one person, one act is like trying to figure out who's responsible for the eye infection after making a bukkake film.

The video above is another great one that shows how the Dems are complicit in this whole mess.
