Hey TED Talks, STFU!
If you spend any time on the internet, you’ve probably ran into one of these “TED Talks”, which start off sort of condescending and don’t deliver enough to make you feel okay about being treated like common street trash during the intro.
They all start off something like this:

One of my favorite figures of speech to describe when someone flips out is “Bakersfield Chimp”, named after the monkey who brutally beat and castrated a Bakersfield, Calif. man a few years ago.
Example: The Boss really went Bakersfield Chimp over the Q3 earnings report.
“San Francisco Tiger” doesn’t roll off the tongue [...]
