Deaf Online Lottery Aim Password Scam
This afternoon I got an instant message from a deaf online lottery scam person. This is not funny like the Nigerian Scam Conversation I had with Charles Soludo in the Nigeria Calling Part Two post, but I thought i’d reopen a dialogue with Nigeria.

[16:23] AndyFox1979: what do you mean
[16:24] AndyFox1979: please explain how my aim password is insuring my money
[16:25] Lottoluckywinn: you have to give me right password so that your money will insured and well delive to your house ok

[16:30] Lottoluckywinn: Bye then
[16:30] AndyFox1979: hey wait

[16:52] AndyFox1979: you must give your password
[16:52] AndyFox1979: or else the police will kick down your door
[16:53] AndyFox1979: :::::: hostname 142.59.23.162 this is officer joel smith, FBI, we’ve begun tracing this IP
[16:53] AndyFox1979: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::hostname 142.59.23.162 he’s using a windows compatible computer, one moment so we can enter on port 25
[16:54] AndyFox1979: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::hostname 142.59.23.162 we’ll delete his entire hard drive, making his computer machine worthless
[16:58] AndyFox1979: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::hostname 142.59.23.162 ping :::::::::::::::::::::::::::hostname 142.59.23.162:::::::::::::::::::::::::::hostname 142.59.23.162 $echo; $pagerhost = ‘pagerhost.9929293.com’;
[16:58] AndyFox1979: $write = ‘pagerhost.server.com/format- C:’;
FTW, the above is not real FBI hacker code, its some bits of PERL used to check your email server mixed with the command to format your C drive in windows.
I tried to scare the scammer but I dont think he really believed it because he didnt write back. To be honest, I feel like an idiot trying to be all hostage negotiator Samuel Jackson with him.
From what i’ve gathered the point of all this is to get your AIM password and then look in your AOL mailbox for credit card, bank info, other passwords, etc
They’d do much better to target yahoo messenger users since nobody uses AOL mail anymore. If you’ve been scammed by this please leave a comment so we can laugh at your simple ways.

wondering if this scam has moved to FB. Never heard of this before. I belong to a few deaf groups on FB and received an invite from someone who is supposedly deaf and I assumed they added me through one of the groups. She IMed me after I accepted the add, asked me if I’m deaf, my age, etc., which all seemed normal and then mentioned winning 750,000 from “the deaf lottery from Harry” and I had never heard of the deaf lottery before. I asked her what that was and while I asked, I googled it and came across this site (and others) talking about the deaf lottery scam. She was asking me for my AIM user name, but I don’t have one, so she asked for my email and warning bells started going off in my mind and told her I wasn’t comfortable giving that out to someone I just met. Immediately she went into offline status and deleted me from her friends list. I can’t remember her full name, but the first name was Lilia.

I have the same problem. I just got an IM through Facebook just in few minutes ago. I’ve never met her but she said she’s deaf and I thought she might be friends with my friends from RIT. I talked to her and she asked me questions then suddenly she said she won deaf lottery and asked me to talk to Harry. Her name is Trisha White. After she mentioned the deaf lottery, I blocked her. Do not add her.

Hey to Shai1,
I agree with you, I got this as well from him saying that I won 600,000 pounds, I wasn’t too sure about it, then this girl called Sally Walker who add me on FB, saying what her name, age etc. asking if I’m deaf and giving me details about lottery man, Harry.
Then I started asking her questions like “How do I know it is real” then she just said he is real” I said “Well seems I can’t afford 300 pounds for delivery fees” She said “well it up to you, you can borrow 200 pounds from someone or your family.” I was thinking I can’t just won because I have a good record with the government, I know that I don’t have good record with government, as I really never did anything to be honest. Also it strange because Harry and Sally went offline at the same time! When I said “How can I know he is real”
Harry give me the address of where he want me to send the money that is going to Nigeria. So I look up the internet and saw the history of lottery scam which all of them are from Nigeria. SCAM!
Do not add Sally Walker!

I have recently been the victim of a fraudulent “scam” whereby I was lead to believe I had won £650,000 on a deaf lottery. I am profoundly deaf myself and so did not question the Legitimacy of this claim. I now realise that I have been subject of a very serious scam. I have transferred variour amounts of mooney totalling approximately £12,000. so I am hurtful myself then I was planning kill myself. My wife beg me…Don’t kill yourself please….I really want kill to Harry Thomas, Ricky Yeager and Eric…I already called to the police…

Give me some proof I can see on the website. Or you need to quit exploiting the deaf folks.
