Homer Simpson “I Hate Liberals” Video

Wednesday, 15 Jul 2009

Here’s Homer Simpson watching Fox News and hating liberals but loving hot babe programs on Fox television. I think it’s funny hearing Homer say he hates liberals, but i guess the joke here is that conservatives are supposed to be religious and uptight about sexuality and so on; except for every conservative that I know in real life, including myself.

Another reason to hate liberals, they LOVE taxes!

I saw this on StumbleUpon today. Here’s the comments to this picture

http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/bennybb.9gag.com/photo/5207_full.jpg

Not only is it not particularly funny, but Of 40 Liberal commenters on Stumble, why did none of them notice that:

  • Unless this was on federal land, which i doubt, theres nothing at all in this picture that “taxes” (federal income tax) paid for. All of the shit that is pointed to in this picture was paid by either state or municipal taxes. I don’t think these people were protesting sales tax or whatever nominal state tax they pay.
  • In the case of the power lines, you geniuses, those are paid for and maintained by the power company, which is sometimes a quasi-government agency but never at the federal level.
  • The roads were likely built decades ago by the city, county and state; the federal government only pays for highways and interstates.

I hate liberals so much.

  1. Whoever was drawing the arrows missed out on the real irony in this picture, which is the brilliant sign that says “Cut taxes, not defense.” That’s like saying, “Don’t pee less, just drink less water!”

  2. “All of the shit that is pointed to in this picture was paid by either state or municipal taxes. I don’t think these people were protesting sales tax or whatever nominal state tax they pay.”

The police department, fire department, utilities, and street department have undoubtedly used federal money in the past. They’re quite likely keeping officers on the street with stimulus money, and will be applying for federal grants forever.

“In the case of the power lines, you geniuses, those are paid for and maintained by the power company, which is sometimes a quasi-government agency but never at the federal level.”

It is a federally-regulated utility. With a big federal government protecting the sea lanes and building the highways that make it possible. Do you think all that stuff sprang up from the sweat of local labor?

“The roads were likely built decades ago by the city, county and state; the federal government only pays for highways and interstates.”

Street departments are able to maintain those roads because of federally-funded highways. The asphalt and equipment gets trucked in. Communities can afford all this because commerce on those federally-created highways and byways and sea lanes and intertubes make our lifestyle possible.

  3. ROFL, you are a tard. Because its not federal money do you think it makes any difference? Taxes pay for infrastructure/police/firemen on the state level. But it’s still “socialism” to you. Yes your capitalist utopia which you obviously are a big believer in does not exist. Without the “state”, either federal or local, there would be no traffic signs/no sidewalks/no streetlights, unless they were privatized. So you think that it’s acceptable to have toll roads, everywhere, and you should pay to walk down the sidewalk. Public infrastructure is a hallmark of a civilization, throughout history, government has built roads (see Ancient Rome), and provided water and sanitation to it’s citizenry. Go fantasize some more about killing those evil liberals, with the guns your stockpiling you fucking nazi piece of shit.

  4. Anon- you stupid asshole. I didn’t say I don’t think local taxes aren’t necessary– as a matter of fact I think that local taxes, and their current rates, are some of the most humane and moral.

Guns? Sorry, I don’t have a stockpile and i’m not a nazi either. Nazis were socialists you dummy.

I am currently living and working in the most capitalistic socialist nation on earth– China. I see what socialism leads up to. It puts those in the government in power and then they can change the rules as they see fit based on some nebulous notion of “whats best for society”. All the wealthy people in China once worked for the government, usually at the military level.

So they called it communism but most people would just say that they did the bait and switch. Once they built up state industry, with the blood of the people, they switched it to private industry and now they’re rich scumbags and the people are still broke.

So, tell me again what infrastructure federal taxes pay for, besides highways (of which the US has plenty, I think)?

So back to you: you think that your political party should decide what’s best for everyone and we should pay for it. I’d rather a company asked me if I wanted to buy their product, if those are the two choices.

  5. Public spending on infrastructure like roads, traffic lights, and sidewalks is for the benefit of “the public” as a whole. It is also to facilitate the private commerce which generates revenue in the first place. Liberals are being disingenuous when they point to these examples as if they are some definitive refutation of the argument that we are over-regulated and over-taxed, because these are time honored expenditures for the benefit of society at large. What the anti-tax movement is sick of is redistributive taxation. Taking from one individual for the benefit of another individual is by any other name theft. There is a fundamental philosophical difference. Conservatives and libertarians view the government as the necessary evil that guards a stable foundation for individual liberty and private enterprise. Liberals instead view the government as not only necessary but as an instrument to refashion the population as they see fit. The extol the supposed virtues of a managed economy, all the while obfuscating the unassailable truth that a managed economy necessarily means a managed population.

I propose an alternative picture to label. Why not take a picture of a typical left wing rent-a-mob protesting the cause du jour, and label all the things that never would have come into existence without innovation and private enterprise. The footnotes could indicate that soap and deodorant would normally be among the things pointed out, were it a picture of any other assemblage. It should go without saying that the camera used to take the picture, the means of digitizing the image, and the monitor on which it is viewed should also be on the list.

You liberals like to think you’re all oh-so clever, with your thick-rim glasses and ironic hipster t-shirts, but you still haven’t learned the one thing that every parasite in the natural world knows instinctively: you can only drain so much blood from the host organism before it dies, and with it the dependent parasite. So keep pushing, the goose isn’t going to lay golden eggs forever.

  6. @ Matt Osbourne

I can’t see ANY link to Republicans and fascism. The conservatives don’t “fantasize” about killing liberals, and if any do, I’m sure that some liberals fantasize about killing conservatives. If you want someone to understand your point of view, introduce it to them and have facts to back it up. But calling someone “a Nazi piece of shit” just makes you look uncultured and stupid.

  7. @ AndyFox

The “Nazi” party was actually called the National Socialist German Workers’ Party.

Socialist Workers being a key word here. Read a history book. Better yet, look up which regimes have murdered the most people in the last century. I’ll give you a head start: Mao, Stalin, Hitler- in that order. Now, consider which side of the political spectrum these ideologies came from.

BTW I love what Toby said and it bears repeating,

“Conservatives and libertarians view the government as the necessary evil that guards a stable foundation for individual liberty and private enterprise. Liberals instead view the government as not only necessary but as an instrument to refashion the population as they see fit. They extol the supposed virtues of a managed economy, all the while obfuscating the unassailable truth that a managed economy necessarily means a managed population.”

  8. Private providers would be superior to government provision in all cases, anyways.
There are two kinds of people, anarchists and the delusional lunatics that believe that the mafia is your friend.
