Obama Did A Great Job In His Cairo Speech, A Republican’s Opinion

This wasn’t the namby-pamby speech I was expecting. I’m starting to like Obama.
Here’s a link to the video:
Obama Speech In Cairo To The Arab World
Here are the reasons I liked this speech:
Obama started with explaining that the US does not have a blind hatred for Muslims.
Obama outlined the commonalities between Arabs and Americans.
Obama said the war on terror was justified and actually seemed to get a little pissed and empassioned about 9/11.
He continuously referred to the United States as “My Country”. Not sure why, but I like that. Maybe it’s because he’s speaking in a language that foreigners can understand:
“Im my country the women are sooo beautiful” says the full-of-shit Libyan man.
He showed reverence for our country, it’s heritage and our founding fathers in the speech.
One thing I disliked about the audience is that like a bunch of Islamobots they only applauded when he quoted the Quran. There was never a suprising applause, all of the applause was after Obama said something that agreed with their party line. This is dissapointing.
I’m suprised the audience didn’t burst out into wild applause when he said:
“… and Anti-Semitism in Europe culminated in an unprecedented holocaust”
::: high fives and Arsenio Hall-style arm twirling all around::::
He also called the Muslims out on a lot of their bullshit and set the record straight on a lot of misconceptions on the United States’ actions.
I like how he reminded everyone that we are only here on this earth for a short period of time, and that we shouldn’t be fighting so much.
Also very nice choice of religious quotes at the end.
Good work Barack Obama.
