Phrase Of The Day: Loading The Cannon

Today I was telling my coworker Joel how I had a full breakfast (eggs, bacon, coffee) and then a big cup of coffee in the morning, then motioned towards my stomach.

“Ah, loading the cannon eh?” Joel Said.

“What’s that mean?” I asked.

Apparently It’s old Death Row slang. Prisoners used to eat a whole bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and then chug a 2-liter of Pepsi for their last meal before their execution.

“I hear it was quite a show back in the electric chair days” Joel Says.

   I had never heard of that before. I’ll have to try to work “loading the cannon” into conversation sometime. Although, the only thing I can think of at the moment is something naughty I would do in the bedroom.
