Small Pocket Inside Right Pants Pocket?

I’m wearing a pair of Banana Republic trousers, brown.
They are sort of like dress pants but more casual. I’m not sure what this model of pant is called.
There’s a small pocket inside of the right front pocket and I keep touching it with my fingers and wondering what it’s for. I’ve felt this on some other pants.
I searched google and no luck.
Anyone have any idea what this is for?

I believe this small pocket is for loose change..So it doesnt rattle around in your pockets when you walk…. Not that you could carry much but some..

I think they started putting them in for pocket watches or something a long time ago and never got around to changing the design. The only thing it ever does for me is make me think I lost a $5 bill.

WoW I thought i heard it all. I figured that little pocket was for me to finger when i was bored…. I have been amazed! I didnt know it was for “Loose Change” OMG.

Not sure, but I’ve always been under the impression the mini-pocket deal was a girly pant thing, specifically a lipstick pocket!
But yes, I keep my crumpled up Lincoln’s in there.

These mini-pockets are annoying, loose coins to go there, and when I try to dig them out, it’s a hassle.

Its a watch pocket. Your change goes on the inside part of the standard right pocket because it has the divider there. Since most of us don’t have pocket watches I suggest that it be used as a stash pocket, as mentioned in other comments, because it would be hard as hell to get any thing without a chain attached out of there.
