SNL has gotten really ass-kissy. Look at their treatment of Obama. They don't even make fun of him. Additionally, I felt embarrassed for Martin while watching him during some of those cringe-inducing "SNL" skits. Toward the end of the show, he even appeared to be reading the cue cards. Talk about "phoning it in." It's been quite some time since I've found Martin the Performer entertaining. His humor nowadays seems much too forced. However, Martin the Author ... now, that's an altogether different story. I'll stick to reading his exquisitely crafted prose. I had the same reaction, Sarah.
