Twitter And The N Word
I search for weird things sometimes.
I often search twitter for my blog’s name, my company’s name, etc.
After the election I searched for “Barack Obama” to see what people were saying about the newly elected president. In one of the posts I saw the word “nigger”. It wasn’t someone calling him that, it was someone else claiming that someone else called him that IRL.
I was like hmm, I wonder how many rednecks are on twitter saying that. So I searched the word “nigger”.

Turns out not that many.
Mostly what i’ve seen is black (or strangely asian) people calling each other “niggers”. Or middle classed black or white people claiming to have been called a “nigger” or a “nigger lover”.
Most of these stories ring untrue to me for some reason. They seem like the stories i’d read about in college (97-01) when people were obsessed with race and ethnic studies. Suddenly, with all eyes on race, when you’d think people would be walking on eggshells, there’s all these “reports” of racial intolerance, hate crimes, etc.
There was a black girl who claimed that someone scrawled the word “nigger” on her dorm room door. Jesse Jackson and company came. There were marches. Sit ins. Singing. When campus security reviewed some security tapes, guess who they saw?

Above you see a creative use of the n-word and also one of these very common stories. Aw Seth, you poor guy. Keep up the good fight!
Gosh what a sham.
It’s funny to me that the only ones obsessed with race and the N word nowadays are black people and hardcore liberals. And that shouldn’t be a suprise as they are the sole beneficiaries of keeping the myth of widespread, insidious racism alive.

That’s what you learned by searching Twitter? Nice thorough research. I’m guessing the results are skewed by demographic of the typical Twitterer. Sure there are conservatives on Twitter and they’re not going to spew hate. But I think it’s safe to assume middle America blue collar types aren’t spending their days reading what office drones and liberal youth have to say in 140 word increments.
Go to a blue collar white neighborhood and hide a recording device in a body shop or a dive bar or a waffle house. If you don’t hear the N word when Obama’s name comes up it’s not because they’re not thinking it.

Jason, its not just on twitter, i see it pretty much everywhere. Look at that cartoon in the New York Post. It was satire and the joke was that the monkey they killed was the author of the stimulus plan (i.e. the stimulus plan is stupid).
To appreciate satire you have to have an open mind and not bring your preconceived notions or fake propriety with you. Everyone became very upset because they thought the NYP was comparing obama to a monkey. That kind of conclusion would only come from a mind that compares black people to monkeys.
It’s Jesse Jackson’s bread and butter for “racism” to exist.
It also helps liberals who have every minority believing that republicans hate them. Its good for their business.
Twitter, whatever microcosm that it is, just reinforces that.
And the reports of being called names are great because it’s assumed nobody else was there to witness it… “while i was driving”. It’s never “while me and my friends were driving”. Why? Because it doesn’t happen. Fantasies.

I agree the Al Sharptons of the world are crazy-obsessed with the N word. And guilty white liberals too.
I’m just playing devil’s advocate I suppose. My assertion is that there are plenty of white racists left in the world. The guy who drew that NY Post comic? Nope. Not a racist. The dude who changes oil at the small town gas station in rural Alabama? Probably.
