Why I Hate The Blog “I Can Has Cheezburger”
I hate the blog I Can Has Cheezburger because if you have a wordpress blog its always on the front page as the most popular blog, further proving that the majority of people are idiots.
Wordpress is supposed to be the high priestess of blogging sites with TypePad being the high priest and of course blogger and those ones being kind of for kids. So that the most popular blog on the 2nd most mature blogging platform is I Can Has Cheezburger tells you that the top percentile of intelligence (if you believe that intelligence plays a role when choosing a blog platform) is still pretty low.
The other reason that I dont like ICHC is because its basically a best of blog of the dumbest section (the animals section) of a mostly dumb but sometimes funny site, 4Chan.org . 4Chan is basically a site where you upload a photo and the community adds comments or captions to your photo. The “funniest” one will be voted up by, the lame ones will be shouted down. 4chan is responsible for a lot of memes (pronounced Meem; I once had a co-worker who said it me-me, after me correcting him no less than 100 times) and captioned pictures that you get forwarded and just think that one clever person made them. Usually its a group effort at 4chan. The /b section is usually the best. /b is the random section, meaning anything goes as long as it isn’t illegal or unfunny.
For whom pictures of cats saying dumb crap is funny, I’d love to pass a law that removes the FWD feature from your email client and also hinders your ability to use StumbleUpon, Digg, del.ico.us Etc.
I Can Has Cheezburger are all of these people, blogofied. If we could get ICHC to throw a convention, CheezBurgerDex say, we could effectively organize and document all the stupidest bastards in the US and take away their pets, cameras, fwd buttons, favorites accounts etc.
You wouldn’t have to politely laugh at a dumb coworkers forwards ever again.

I’m no big fan of ICHC either; if you check the Wordpress forums, you’ll find a lot of topics started by people frustrated with it as well. The problem is that most popular blogs revolve around short fun snippets that are quick for people to look at; people just don’t seem to search for quality content – but of course “quality” is different to everyone, LOL.
The thing is, if ICHC didn’t exist, it’d just be some other blog. And ICHC is a VIP blog, which are $300 a month to run, so it’s obviously doing well… I’d like to see WP set up a new category where you can select from different blogs, a bit like the news categories but more random; might give everyone more of a chance of being noticed.

It was an established site that moved to wordpress after wordpress explicitly invited them.
Yeah, it’s stupid. And yeah, 4chan may have started it. So? It’s funny, if you get it. Always safe for work and safe for family. Try sending Grama to 4chan for her lulz (which, if I understand correctly, is a corruption of lol)
well, cat pictures with captions were posted on saturday (caturday) on 4chan. Anyhow, I do get it but think its rather ghey with cats.

See, the problem with I Can Has Cheezburger?, Lolcats and everything those people put out is that it’s tacky, it’s immature, it deteriorates the English language to an almost unrecognizable crapfest, and it’s just not entertaining. Oh wait, that’s problems, plural; my mistake. Also, because so many people like it, they’ve all banded together and decided that it’s mature and in good taste, so they feel they have the right to say that it’s funny “if you get it.” Because it takes such an enlightened person to grasp the complex genius of a cat making a stupid pose and saying something in gobbledegook. Well done, world.

What the heck “I can has” mean, anyway? Even a 14-years-old-who-still-has-trouble-at-grammar like me knows if it is not right.

Seriously, anyone who even goes near that site to get ‘lols’ is an idiot. I’ve been on it before, and hate how there are 50 million comments on a caption in a second all saying things like ‘omgwtfbbq’ and ‘roflmaoownedickunt’ and other pointless and senseless bull crap that would get them nowhere in life. I say we BAN “humor” sites unless they are voted in by a committee of intellectuals who don’t have time for such silliness. The committee will meet in a very austere building. All I can say is that ICHC seems insanely repetitious. It gets really old, really fast. I went there once. Not to seem like a kiss ass, but I find Misanthropy Today very moto! OORAH!

Yeah I have to agree, the first time I saw that dumb photo of some mutt with the words, I can haz cheezburger” on it, I almost barfed with embarrassment and dismay. This is what passes for comedy? Juvenile, cretin-ized corruptions of the English language posted on photos of dumb animals??
I think people who like this crap need to be stripped bare and made to walk around in public with the words , I HAZ NO BRANE carved on their puny chests.
